Cartagena, Colombia Part III

April 1, 2016 Marianna Jamadi

As some of you might know, my main reason for traveling to Cartagena was to work on my VSCO Artist Initiative project. I spent two weeks with the dancers from Periferia and was blown away by their talent and souls. As I seep previews via my VSCO grid, I am also documenting my project in more detail on my VSCO journal.

If you find you don't know how to digest this image, you are not alone. I found that when I posted this on instagram, it got low engagement compared to other superficial photos and I asked myself, why? I love this photo for several reasons. It's powerful and striking and sometimes people cannot sit with things that are uncomfortable, which is precisely why I am doing this project. Please take a minute to read more.
