THE COLLECTIVE WHOLE

January 12, 2016 Marianna Jamadi

The more I travel the more I realize, feel, and appreciate that we are only whole because of the whole of our parts. Our collective experiences make us who we are. Whether it's land we've traversed, people we've met, or experiences we've had, these are our most precious parts. We hang on tight to the things we love, are moved by things that puncture us (good or bad), and we often forget to tend to our layers.

With this idea in mind, I started a project using double or multiple exposures to highlight this idea through the eyes of my own experience. Who am I? What or who is layered within? This is my way of validating and acknowledging the pieces of me that are so vital to the core of my character.

Below are a few of my favorite pieces along with descriptions.

All images shot with an iphone 6s plus and edited with VSCOcam + FUSED apps.

For a tutorial on how I crated these images, hop on over to Buzzfeed
